What Women Want ?

In a brief conversation, a man asked a woman he was pursuing the question:
“What kind of man are you looking for?”

She sat quietly for a moment before looking him in the eye & asking, ‘Do
you really want to know?’
Reluctantly, he said,”Yes.”

She began to expound…

“As a woman in this day & age, I am in a position to
ask a man what can you do for me that I can’t do for myself?
I pay my own bills. I take care of my household without the help of any
man…or woman for that matter.
I am in the position to ask, ‘What can you bring to the table?’”

The man looked at her. Clearly he thought that she was referring to money.

She quickly corrected his thought & stated, “I am not referring to money.
I need something more.
I need a man who is striving for excellence in every aspect of life.”
He sat back in his chair, folded his arms, & asked her to explain.
She said, “I need someone who is striving for excellence mentally because I
need conversation & mental stimulation. I don’t need a simple-minded man.

I need someone who is striving for excellence spiritually because I don’t
need to be unequally yoked…believers mixed with unbelievers is a recipe
for disaster.

I need a man who is striving for excellence financially because I don’t
need a financial burden.

I need someone who is sensitive enough to understand what I go through as a
woman, but strong enough to keep me grounded.

I need someone who has integrity in dealing with relationships. Lies and
game-playing are not my idea of a strong man.

I need a man who is family-oriented. One who can be the leader and
provider to the lives entrusted to him by God.

I need someone whom I can respect. In order to be submissive, I must
respect him.

I cannot be submissive to a man who isn’t taking care of his business. I
have no problem being submissive…he just has to be worthy.

And by the way, I am not looking for him…He will find me. He will
recognize himself in me. Hey may not be able to explain the connection,
but he will always be drawn to me. God made woman to be a help-mate for
man. I can’t help a man if he can’t help himself.”

When she finished her spill, she looked at him.

He sat there with a puzzled look on his face. He said,”You are asking a
lot.”

She replied, “I’m worth a lot”.

Preserving Food Grains

Are you tired of keeping your food grains free from insects? Food storage and preservation is the biggest challenge a housewife faces. Cereals and cereal products are one of the most important food items consumed worldwide. The biggest threat to food grains and dry foods is infestations which may be in the form of live insects or insect eggs. Bacteria are surface contaminants of food grains and the main spoilage organisms in grains are moulds.

It is very important to store and preserve food grains so that they are free from micro-organisms that can impact health. Sun drying is one of the oldest methods used from time immemorial for preserving food grains. Drying removes moisture from the food stuff and prevents spoilage of food. This method has been also used for preserving certain vegetables, fruits, meats, dried fish, shrimps, tamarind, papads etc.

Besides sun drying, here are other simple ways of storing and preserving food grains so that they remain fresh and do not lose healthy nutrients present in them.

Wheat:
Believe it or not, a simple match stick can become a savior of your wheat stock. Simply buy a pack of match sticks. Wind cotton thread around the match sticks. Cluster these together and put them in the wheat container. One such pack of 50 match sticks is enough for 20 kg wheat. Change this every three months to keep moths away from wheat.
Dried neem leaves added to wheat stock also keeps the worms away from wheat grains.

Rice:
We experience rice becoming infected with worms very fast. Here are two tips to keep worms at bay.
10 small pieces of camphor tied in a piece of cloth will be good enough to keep worms away from rice.
Boric powder mixed with rice will also keep it fresh and free from insects and worms. For long-term storage, put rice in containers that are clean and completely dry. Any trace of moisture or contamination can cause bacterial growth and spoilage of rice. Spread boric powder at the base. Mix boric powder with rice and store in the container. Sprinkle a little boric powder on the top layer of rice. Seal the container and make sure it is airtight. You may use candle wax to seal.

Tip: Store the containers in cool dry place away from sunlight.

Jowar (Sorghum):
Dried neem leaves can by handy in preserving jowar. Store the grain in air tight containers. Spread dried neem leaves at the base of the clean and dry container. Mix dried neem leaves in the grain and put jowar on the dried leaves base.
Before closing the lid of the container spread a few dried leaves at the top.
Red chillies can also be used for storing this grain. You will require 200 grams of dried red chillies for storing 20 kg Jowar.
Boric powder mixed with the grains can also be used to store the grains.

Pulses:
The method of drying pulses in the sun has been used for ages. Sundried pulses stay fresh and worm free. After drying in the sun cool the pulses before storing them in airtight containers.
If drying in the sun is not possible, you can put them in an open vessel or a heavy-bottom karahi and roast them on a slow fire. Stir continuously to avoid burning. The purpose is to remove moisture from the pulses. Cool the pulses before storing. Roasted daal will taste better when cooked.
Boric powder mixed with pulses can help them stay fresh and keep worms at bay. But remember to clean them well before cooking to remove any traces of boric powder.
Microwave the pulses for three four minutes, cool and store them.

Remember: Pulses that you are likely to use for sprouting should not be roasted in the microwave.

Beans:
Simply add a few dried chilli peppers to the dried beans and store in an airtight container. Red chillies will not flavour the dried beans but will definitely keep the pests away.
Add boric powder to the dried beans and mix well. This will keep the beans insect-free. Wash well before use.

Bajra:
Purchase bajra is small quantities as chances of getting spoilt are very high. Store in an airtight, clean and dry container and keep away from sunlight.
Add a few cloves to the stored grains to keep worms away.
Store with dried neem leaves to protect from insects.

Peanuts:
Mint leaves can be used for preserving peanuts.
If you are staying in a highly humid area, store them in the freezer. They will remain fresh for months.

Chick peas (Chhole):
It is often seen that chick peas get infested with worms very fast especially in the rainy season. The best way to store them is to keep them in an airtight container in the freezer. Mix boric powder before putting in the containers.
Before using wash well to remove boric powder.

Semolina (Suji):
Roasting semolina on a slow fire in a non-stick pan is the best way to protect semolina from insects. Cool it and store in an airtight container.
If you want to keep it fresh for months, put the container in the freezer.

Dalia (Broken wheat):
Simply roast it on slow fire in a heavy-bottomed vessel or in the microwave to prevent insect infestation. Cool and store in an airtight container

Amazing Life

Have you ever wondered how life can be made amazing? I know it is somewhat complicated to think of an exact solution and I am aware that every individual has different idea of life. For an “Amazing life”, the most important ingredient, at least according to me is – success. With success come joy, wisdom, and confidence. At this point, I am aware of the shortage of time that most of us face to achieve our goal. However, it can be solved by the perseverance, determination, and discipline.

Many things that we come across in daily life can be a motivation to us in many ways. For example, consider the time we spend watching Television. We watch many movies, miniseries, advertisements, sport, songs etc. we watch it for the purpose of entertainment. What we fail to see is the moral that is in it. Everything around has something new in it that can change the basic idea of our life, but we never bother to open our eyes to see that.

Our thinking power is limited to our physical vision. This restriction is the main culprit for our lack of judgement power. We always know what we have to do but we never bother to do it since we know that it is not going to help us. This restriction to ourselves makes up the major part of the life and we almost fail to see what we have lost in the process.

The major part of having fun and making memories are the days when at college. Here, though we have lots of studying to do, we tend to go out with friends, meet new people, explore new places, and do some crazy stuff. Here, what we fail to see is the experience we gain through the course.
In addition, while studying, we neglect the quality of contents and restrict it to the examination point of view. Nevertheless, the lessons of life, which ought to be learnt, are forgotten and are bothered untouched. For example, a subject like Sanskrit has many moral values in every sentence of it. Studying for the marks in such subjects is a fool’s hope.
The next major part of life comes from the work. The responsibility, hardworking, honesty is the main constituents at this particular time. Most of us hate the job we do and always dream of that “one big job” which we seem to like. However, it is a fact that, the work is always a work irrespective of the time and place. We can overcome this burden of work by simply loving what we do. Yes! That actually works. Next time, try loving your job and do it.. I am sure your day is going to be better!

A small thing can change the course of the future. We need to learn to find happiness in very small things. Though we may find it silly, but when we treasure it in some form and memorize it after a few years, we will definitely know what we missed. For this, we can have number of methods developed like writing a diary, journals, or even tweets for the geeks! Writing a diary or journal also helps us to relax our mind and lower the burden in our hearts.

It is never late to start a new life. Every second counts and so does our every action. We may seem invisible at some point of time to the world, but one day the world will recognize us for what we are. For this, we always have to dream big. Yes! Dream bigger and bigger and do not to forget to work achieving the dream.

I can say that our life is a dictionary. It is a dictionary where we put the words and give it a meaning of our own and that meaning proves what we are. it is not necessary that we need to include greater number of words but it is important that what meaning we give to the fewer number of words which we have inserted. In addition, we can eliminate some of the words like malice, jealousy, greed, hatred, misery, sorrow, trouble. Make sure that your dictionary has the highest number of sales!

Finally, we must make sure that we do not leave the people who have been there for us at the utmost need of times. Be it parents or friends, people who care for us, love us, and respect us are the people who deserve the best of us. The best gift to thank them is by loving them back and remembering them for the rest of life.

Ways to celebrate Friendship Day

Some plan it well in advance, some do it late. Some have a clear cut bend of mind, some confused.
But the day comes just once in a year. So don't let any wish slip by. Celebrate and make your friend(s) feel the special way you feel for your friendship.
Need some ideas on how to celebrate Friendship Day? Here are some to let you opt for any or many of them.
  • Celebrating things together is the best idea to strengthen your friendship bond. So if you're fortunate on that count, freak out with food, fun and funky beats. A picnic is always a fun idea, and great for all ages. Invite your closest buddies over for a sleepover! Rent some movies and pig out on popcorn, chocolate and junk foods. Well, if you venture to do it yourself, try from the special recipes.
  • If you're physically-inclined, try an activity such as billiards, bowling, golf or even going to the beach or a theme park.
  • If you're all busy during the day, chill out at a dinner with your friend(s). Host a Friendship Dinner Party! If you like, dress up in your finest or the weirdest and have a fun night that's different from the norm.
  • Write a nice card for your friend telling them how much you appreciate their friendship. Play the role of a humorist and share jokes with your friends. Spill out your heart to them as though there is no tomorrow.
  • If you want to reach and be remembered by your near and far away friends alike the best thing is to dedicate the music or song of your common choice thru' a popular radio or TV program.Plan accordingly and book a slot in advance to avoid being left out due to a 'rush'.
  • And if you like, go and enjoy to your choicest entertainment show, or to a much sought-after sports event, may be a football or baseball match to ride the crest of excitements.
  • Make a friendship poster by using your name and your friends' names and decorating it.
  • Draw a picture of your best friend.
  • Make friendship bracelets.
  • Make some cards for your friends.
  • Take group photo of your friends, then add bunny ears to the faces.
  • Pass this friendship message: and post it in all social networking sites and your blogs.
  • Relive your old days by hitting a old joint together.
  • Discuss what makes a good friend.
  • What should you do to be a good friend?
  • Name all your friends.
Plant some saplings and christen them with your friend's names.
  • Have a picnic with other kids and make new friends.
  • Find a pen-pal to be friends with.
  • Write some Friendly Poetry.
  • Gift saplings in a ready pot, with your friend's name as the plants name.
  • Send personalized gifts to your friends.
  • Have a group dinner with your friends, and if applicable, with together with respective families.
  • Build a personal website with friendship theme.
  • Write a nice card for your friend telling them how much you appreciate their friendship. Spill out your heart to them as though there is no tomorrow.
  • Buy or make them a small present - flowers, chocolates, friendship bands, a cake, a dream catcher, friendship journal or anything that catches your imagination! Consider leaving the gift anonymously for added intrigue.
  • Hug someone, preferably your friend, and have someone to shoot the moment.
  • Make a point to call every one of your friends on Friendship Day to let them know u care.
  • Make your friend a mixed CD of all the songs that define your friendship (or ones that you just happen to mutually like).
  • Submit a Friendship Tribute to your friend to be posted on the web.
  • Call all those old friends you haven't spoken to in ages. Remember the girl scout motto: "Make new friends and keep the old, one is silver and the other gold"!
  • Make a special friendship book for your best friend. Include photos, quotes and poetry telling your friends how special they are.
  • Ring up a radio station and dedicate a song to Friendship Day and your friends!

My College!

College life is often said as the best life only because that there is no much stress for a student to study the subject like it happens in the school days. But I really enjoy studying and sometimes I become isolated from everybody else only to indulge my thoughts completely to study the book of my interest. (My friends have never forgiven me for that!). In spite of all these I still feel really happy to be in college as I am studying in SDM Degree college and I am proud to say that. I have various reasons for that.

1. Many people often wondered what I was doing in the remote place of Ujire (the town in which the college is situated) and how I was surviving after they learnt that I was from Bangalore. It is true that I led a very good life in Bangalore - enjoying out with friends, parties, periodical shopping, expensive stuffs, branded stuffs, delicious but junk food, movie theaters... so the list goes on. But what knowledge I really gained there staying for 10 years, I had in 5 months in Ujire! That's true! The quality of education sucks in Bangalore and it is only money making institutions that are present there (except very few) and I was a culprit to that system :(

2. Though there are many opportunities in Bangalore, the quantity of people getting through it is very less. Yes we do of course participate and we will love the competition but the winner would be an "High Influenced", I would say. That is not the case in my college here and I am glad that I am into it! Thank You God :)

3. Individual attention is essential to some extent in every one's life. Being invisible always causes the depression and loses the interest and determination one has in their work. Bangalore colleges have lots of students in them and it is inappropriate to tell that lecturers don't always care about students. But that is not the situation in SDM College. Yes! Even our college have great numbers.. in fact the number is currently 3500 + but the amount of interest of students to each student is always the same! (Now that's what i call - Awesome!) Every single teacher regrets the under performance of every single student and that is the bondage that is being developed there between the students and teachers.

4. Of course we all know that urban cities like Bangalore are far more forward in the ways of technology and other scientific field. it is obvious that remote villages would not get the periodical updates of technological areas and it seems like an advantage for the students in Urban areas. But let me tell all the students who thinks so that they are absolutely wrong! SDM college has far more better facilities than any other college in Karnataka and the best part is they actually put it into real use unlike other colleges which simply stores it to boost themselves that they too are equipped with recent developments but are too afraid to loose it, damage it or destroy it! In fact i witnessed for the first time about the teleconference way of education since i was part of esteemed course of studying of French language (another surprise!)

5. The essential part of every college that students expect is a good and neat campus, a well arranged library and a nice playground! Who-ooh! I am the winner again! My college have the cleanest campus and let me tell you a secret.. it rains all day and yet the staff manage to maintain it clean (*magic*! ). And talking about library, we have a breath taking library containing more than 80000 + books (now who would have dreamed that! Its my favorite section in whole of building!). OK, now every college is blessed with 1 playground... but I am blessed with many playgrounds! We have playgrounds matching exactly to each and every game that we think of to play! The most amazing part is we have a better audience view seating arrangement than what we can find in Chinnaswamy stadium! (no offence!)

Whoosh that's lots of things to go on with. But now its time for conclusion i guess since I convinced myself that I have given enough convincing reasons to prove everyone about why my college is the best. People differ from one to another and so do their thoughts. Likewise, I don not appreciate those who like this content nor do I blame those who did not like it. Its just that how I feel after I have expressed so many great things about something that has now become part of my life. I am just too proud of it and nobody can confront it. Anyway it is never the same feeling in other places. Home is always the most sweetest place. I have to admit it that I miss my Bangalore but I also cant deny it that I have started to fall in love with this current new place.

Flash Back to High School

Elders say ‘school is temple and teachers are god’. This is so true.
The three years I spent in seshadripuram high school was really fantastic period in my life. I never spent my time so happily in all the ways. I don’t know about other students who spent their time in the same school, but those three years were golden days in my life. Tough I have passed many years, spent time in many schools and also with many people; but those wonderful moments can never be bought back.
All those years, it was a nice experience. All the teachers were very good, kind and affectionate. Great thinkers say the aim of education is the knowledge of not facts but of values. I am glad to say that we received the same in our school!
Everyone says college days are best days, but I feel school days are better than that! You know, when I joined that school in 8th standard, I was so reserved. But today I am able to communicate with people without any fear and moreover I am able to become what I want to!This was only because of my teachers who put confidence not only in me but in every child. Homely atmosphere in that school gave us a feeling of being free.
I would like to recall some of my old memories. We went to Vishveswaraih museum in 8th standard, Shivagange in 9th standard and there was this spectalcular journey to many of the places in 10th standard which lasted for 5 days!.
Me and my friends were all happy that we were going to college which was the second step in our life but at the same time we were also sad that our awesome school days were finished and we miss that even now a lot, lot and a lot………
I will never forget those glorious days, sweet memories of my teachers and friends and moreover unity that was present in our class............!

How I Thought of Blogging - Story Behind It

Blogging isn't something that every normal person can do, not at least can he achieve something from it. It needs skill..."the skill of writing" to enhance the new ideas in an artistic and linguistic way..
That is  when I thought "Why cant I do it?"
The only talent which I possess (or maybe, I think so) is the skill of writing and I can write continuously for hours and pages if i am not disturbed by any external methods.  So when I woke up the other morning and sat in front of my PC wondering what to do, I realized it was time that I open up my own blog and start typing some hard sentences until the keys from my keyboard comes out!! Well, this blogging certainly would go on for a while and at last I am happy that I am able to put my thoughts on an external resource and also I am happy that I am using PC for a better purpose and not wasting my time sitting in front of Facebook and doing nothing!

Feeling of New Born Baby!

Ahh! welcoming myself to the great world of blogging! well it is a good feeling i have; since its just me and my family and my few friends i have here (until now and it might last for sometime!). But that has got nothing to do with me and yeah! this is the first step i am taking to promote myself in this big big world and get recognized and become visible to all the people who unless would have never known me or known to me!
Anyway from the past few days, several thoughts are disturbing my mind severely and keep pushing me to achieve something and for that i have no answers to myself. Making these stuff (the dreams) in real life is lot more complicated than what we imagine things to happen. Yes we practice lot and take lot of courage to enact something but the moment we come up with our turn..we fail! But my problem is not how i get things done correctly but WHAT THINGS do i have to make correct! currently i am blank.. but i will be back with new posts which would be interesting and well recreating. Keep visiting this page to find something new and you will all be surprised with something new every week and that is a promise I make on the day of the birthday of this blog!
